The property was purchased in 1976, at the time a run-down farm on the sharpest bend of the Margaret River. Located close to the coast with views of the Indian Ocean, the name Burnside has its origins in Ireland where it means one who lives by a burn or stream. | |

Tasting note |
An alluring and powerful example of a Margaret River Chardonnay. Aromas of ripe loquat and peach flesh give way to nuances of fresh pineapple and light brioche dough. The palate is multi-layered with ripe peach, crème caramel and underlying natural ferment characters. Textural layers are supported by persistent mineral acidity, combining power and grace.

Awards and Accolades |
95 points, James Halliday Wine Companion 2017The Burnside Vineyard, on a bend of the Margaret River, has steep northwest/southeast rows on unique micaceous black soils; hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed to French oak (20% new), wild-fermented, no mlf, aged on lees. The bouquet is complex and welcoming, then an early change of pace by the energetic palate with nectarine and peach supported by citrus-tinged acidity. |
