The Ventoux rouge is predominantly a blend of 60% Syrah and 30% Grenache and originates from sloping vineyards that lie at up to 500 metres above sea level. Vidal Fleury was founded in 1781 and is the oldest wine house in the Rhône. From their base amongst the Cote Rotie vineyards they make a full range of wines from across the whole Rhône Valley. | |

Tasting note |
Full dark red colour with some black highlights. Syrah dominated with blueberry, cranberry, sherry, violet and a hint of spice (cumin). On the palate, a full bodied wine with black fruits and scrubland aromas. Good tannins and chewiness on the finish.

87 pointsRobert Parker, 4th January 2016 Top 50 Best-value Rhône, Decanter July 2016Redolent nose proffering an autumnal perfume of black cherries and blackcurrants that waft onto the palate where they are invigorated by a peppery freshness. Pleasant upright structure with good depth and a fresh, clean finish. 88pts 100 Best Value Summer Reds & Rosé Wines, Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail, 28 May 2016This wine is at the upper end of the medium-bodied spectrum thanks to the very ripe syrah grapes that dominate the blend. With grenache taking a back seat, it has dashes of black olive and liquorice - and it'll get even better with age. 86 points, Decanter World Wine Awards 2016Rich black cherry dominates the nose with a hint of roast beef and spice. The palate is dry with liquorice, spice and fine chewy tannins. 88 points, Wine Spectator, 100 Top Values of 2016Fresh, with good drive to the cherry and plum compote notes, backed by a lively anise edge.
