Awards and Accolades

Christine Austin, Yorkshire Post, 19 January 2013

This company is owned by Guigal and while it operates quite separately there is clearly a shared philosophy when it comes to quality. With an increasing proportion of Grenache going into the blend, year on year, these wines are heading towards wild forest fruit flavours underpinned by leathery, savoury notes. The 2010 vintage is still quite structured and perfect to pour with a steak.

Jane MacQuitty, The Times, 12 January 2013

With ever-escalating Bordeaux and Burgundy prices, it's a relief to know that a great vintage in the Rhône, such as 2010, can still deliver budget bottles. Scoop up Vidal-Fleury's delicious bold, peppery, thyme-scented 2010 Côtes du Rhône a 14 per cent alcohol Grenache with one-fifth Syrah plus a dollop of Mourvèdre and a dash of Carignan in the mix too: a winter warmer to its toes.

Andrew Campbell, Liverpool Echo, 25 January 2013

Finding a quality Côtes du Rhône can be difficult, but Majestic has unearthed a cracker produced from southern Rhône grapes by one of the region's oldest producers. It is made from 65% Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan making up the rest. It's concentrated, rich and smooth with abundant flavours of dark fruit, fennel, peppery spice and herbs.
