The McHenry Hohnen family has been involved with zinfandel since the variety was first introduced to the Margaret River region in 1972. The Rocky Road vineyard lies close to the headwaters of the Chapman Brook near Witchcliffe in the southern Margaret River region. Vineyard management embraces sustainable 'old school' practices that mark a return to methods used before the development of intensive, industrial agriculture. | |

Tasting note |
An intense nose of ripe blackberry, cola and watermelon combine with underlying sweet spice and nuances of red strap liquorice. The palate shows varietal fruit box berries and red boiled confection in abundance partnered with soft and silky tannins. Sweet upfront fruit is tempered with bright natural acidity ensuring that this wine dances on the palate.
