Les Pierres Dorées is an exciting project which has seen Latour recognise the potential for the Pinot Noir vines in a region that has traditionally been planted with Gamay. Located north-west of Lyon, the Pierres Dorées lies on undulating hillsides amongst 39 villages. The area's name comes from the golden ochre coloured stone that is visible throughout the landscape. The Pierres Dorée clay and limestone soils are very similar to those found in Burgundy. They are composed of a crinodial limestone, marl from the Early Jurassic period and a clay-limestone mix. This very specific terroir allows the Pinot Noir to reveal all its elegance and richness. | |

Tasting note |
The Pinot Noir from the Pierres Dorées offers a wine with a great freshness, underlined by concentrated black fruits aromas with a superb length. The palate is dominated by black and red berry fruits with hints of mocha.
