Wakefield receive top awards at MUNDUS VINI

The results of the Spring Tasting were announced at Prowein and we're delighted to share the news that Wakefield were awarded Best of Show for Australian White and Red. 

Wakefield Visionary 2014 took home Best of Show Australian Red and was also awarded a "GRAND GOLD" - this award is given only for the best wines submitted. At least 95 points are given for the evaluation of the wines by the international jury. Only the best rated wines receive the corresponding award.

Wakefield Estate Chardonnay 2017 won Best of Show Australian White. This is the 5th year running that a Wakefield Chardonnay has won the title.

MUNDUS VINI was founded 15 years ago by Meininger Verlag and has become one of the most important wine competitions in the world. The awards offer buyers and consumers a helpful comparison while recognising producers for their hard work. 

It is judged by a group of highly qualified international judges made up of oenologists, wine-makers, professional wine traders, sommeliers and expert journalists taste the wines, sparkling wines and fortified wines in ‘blind’ tasting rounds. They are tasted according to their product category, origin, quality level and flavour, and evaluated in accordance with the international 100-point scheme of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), also recognised by the Union Internationale des Oenologues (UIOE).
