Vidal-Fleury also came out on top with two golds for it’s Vacqueyras 2020 and Crozes-Hermitage 2020 reds.
Chateau Sainte Roseline La Chapelle rouge 2014, Platinum, 97pts
Stunning maturity on the nose, with notes of bacon, black olive, and balsamic. The palate is smoothly textured, silky, and fine, with deep black fruits, spicy bark, and peppery spice. The tannins are powerful, yet in balance and the wine finishes with freshness and depth.
Chateau Sainte Roseline Lampe de Meduse rouge 2017, Gold, 96pts
Pronounced mulberry, blackberry and violet aromas. The palate has a plush texture with concentrated fruits, notes of pepper and kirsch, fine tannins and bright acidity. At 5 years old, it is just getting going. A very good wine.
Vidal-Fleury, Vacqueyras 2020, Gold, 95pts
An interesting style here, already showing some complexity with an elegant damson, blackberry and juniper nose. Bright red and dark fruits on the palate, feeling juicy and bold, with some meaty, spicy, slightly oaky notes. Long, elegant, spicy finish. In the groove with lots more to come in time.
Vidal-Fleury, Crozes Hermitage red 2020, Gold, 95pts
Intense, focussed and expressive of its origins with a freshly cracked black pepper nose. No excess extraction, weight or oak; damson and liquorice characters to the fore. Sculpted tannins with good freshness alongside; very well balanced, with presence, character and a very long finale. Neat, true and really convincing.
