With more than 430 years of history many people have had a hand in shaping Champagne Gosset.
Suzanne Gosset, who led the house from 1914 to 1918 and then again from 1955 to 1965, is credited with making a significant impact. Her most notable contributions include the introduction of clear bottles and seizing the opportunity to focus on rose wines, at a time when most did not recognise their potential.
Suzanne Gosset was born in 1885 and married André Gosset just before the First World War. She then ran Gosset through the war years and then again after the death of her husband, André, for a further 10 years.
It was in her ‘second term’ as head of the house that she pioneered the use of clear bottles for Champagne. A new Blanc de Blancs in a clear bottle was released by Gosset in 2017 as a tribute to her leadership.
In the 1960’s Suzanne also introduced rosé to the range. It was a huge success and has been a strong focus for Gosset ever since and remains a core part of the collection to this day.
