We’re delighted to announce Seresin Estate have been admitted into la Renaissance des Appellations. This is a French association of organic and biodynamic producers but they are very strict about who can qualify. This group unites 180 vineyards all around the world and Seresin Estate are one of only two from New Zealand.
Founded in 2001, the appellation gives consumers a legal guarantee that the wines come from vineyards with living soil, not treated with any chemicals. The producers must have had an organic or biodynamic certificate for a minimum of 3 years. It also gives consumers the guarantee that nothing occurs in the winemaking or cellars that would alter the wine and prevent it from reflecting the terroir and appellation that it came from.
To join the group a tasting is also made by a committee of well-known wine growers and there must be a unanimous result in order to join the group.
