People's Choice Wine Awards Finalists
10 November 2018The finalists for the People’s Choice Wine Awards have been announced and we’re delighted to see five of our wines in the running for five different categories.
- Simonnet Febvre Crémant de Bourgogne NV – Fabulous Fizz: Best sparkling wine rest of the world
- Wakefield Promised Land Shiraz – Food friendly wines: Red for light meals
- Wakefield St Andrews Chardonnay – Food friendly wines: White for aromatic & Asian cuisine
- Wakefield Jaraman Shiraz – One Man and his BBQ
- Wakefield The Pioneer Shiraz – Blow Out
The wines are all finalists in each category and the winner of each category will be announced at the awards ceremony on 25th February 2019 at The Comedy Store, Manchester.
The People’s Choice Wine Awards (PCWA) was launched in 2017 and gives the consumer the opportunity to vote for the wines they like. The first round is judged by a panel made up of WSET Students and everyday wine enthusiasts. These judges shortlist the wines. The second round panel is made from a combination of five ‘supertasters’ (best amatheur judges from Round 1) along with consumer campions in the trade, wine journalists and friendly experts. Round two judges include Kate Goodman, Amelia Singer, Judy Kendrick, Brian Elliott, Lisa Moreton, Peter Ranscombe, Sorcha Holloway, Mike Turner, Sumita Sarma and Tony Husband.
