On the 5th October we celebrated the release of Gosset's 2004 CELEBRIS Extra Brut in London at wine club 67 Pall Mall. Cellar Master Odilon de Varine visited the UK to lead a unique vertical tasting of all 6 vintages that have been produced since the first 1988 release, the first time that this has been done anywhere in the world.
We are happy to announce our shipment, which is packaged with a new label, has now arrived. To place your order or for more information please contact your account manager or call our office on 020 7409 7276.
CELEBRIS is Gosset's prestige cuvée and was created in honour of Albert Gosset. It is a blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from various Crus including Chouilly, Cramant, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzy. Odilon de Varine commented that "2004 is an incredible vintage. The malic acid, which has been expertly preserved in this cuvee, gives it the freshness and elegance of great wines and which we will no doubt continue to talk about in decades to come."
Following the launch Decanter awarded CELEBRIS 2004 93 points and wrote that CELEBRIS 2004 is "Pale straw green colour with a flowing, persistent small bubbled mousse. The nose is tight and contained, although with air it develops more complexity, with aromas of toasted bread, spiced lemon and quince. Although still taut, there's a real core of mineral rich, deep flavours that promise well for long aging. Up there with the 2002 but more subtle and ready sooner. Dosage 4.5%, disgorged June 2016."
