We are pleased to announce that Morgenhof Estate, of Stellenbosch, has joined the Louis Latour Agencies portfolio. Those who attended our tasting earlier this month had the opportunity to taste the six wines that we will be keeping in stock at London City Bond. The Estate's reds are typified by fine grained tannins and elegant fruit characteristics whilst the whites retain a freshness with pure orchard fruit flavours. Our order has been placed and should be with us by the end of March.
Morgenhof Estate is situated on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, just outside Stellenbosch. It comprises of 213 hectares of which 78 are under vine. The history of the estate itself can be traced back to its original colonial settlers in 1692.
The vineyard is now owned by Anne Cointreau from the Cognac region. Anne is a member of the family which also owns Gosset and Frapin. Morgenhof produces wines only from grapes grown on the Estate – and is especially well-known for its old vine Chenin Blanc and the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that make their Estate wine.
