Monday 20th
12pm: Beyond Estate Sauvignon Blanc with Leah Seresin
New Zealand white wine has a lot to offer and Seresin Estate have proven just how diverse they, and Marlborough, can be. Join Leah Seresin and discover their aromatics with Alsatian style whites before moving on to appreciate their richer, full-bodied wines.
2pm: The Role of Grenache in Southern Rhône villages with Damien d’Ovidio
Since the early days Vidal-Fleury has established a reputation for the production of high-quality wines which show individuality and the typicity of the different Rhône appellations from which they come. Damien d’Ovidio will journey through the Southern appellations and discuss the importance and contribution of Grenache in each of their wines.
Tuesday 21st
12pm: One Year On – 2016 Corton & Corton Charlemagne with Bruno Pepin
Join Bruno Pepin and explore the hill of Corton with five different wines from 2016. Maison Louis Latour’s Domaine represents the largest single holding of Grand Cru vineyards. Their domaine wines are produced at Château Corton Grancey in the village of Aloxe-Corton using traditional techniques and almost entirely made by hand.
2pm: Shades of Chilean Malbec with Cristian Urzua
Argentina may have built a reputation on Malbec but on the other side of the Andes the wines are just as exciting. Cristian Urzua will discuss the evolution of Malbec including their single vineyard San Carlos Malbec. This vineyard is one of the oldest in Chile having been established in the 19th century with pre-phylloxerra root stock from France.
Wednesday 22nd
12pm: 10th Anniversary of La Lus Albarossa with Jgor Marini
Born from Barbera and Nebbiolo, Albarossa can trace its roots back to 1938. Grown by Banfi in Piedmont, La Lus (The Light) is the highest expression of this innovative varietal and Castello Banfi are celebrating their 10th Anniversary. Join Jgor Marini for Banfi’s first vertical tasting of La Lus and learn how this grape came to command its position on their estate.
2pm: Wakefield’s Cabernet Sauvignon Journey with Adrian Atkinson
In 1973 Bill Taylor, founder of Wakefield Wines, tentatively entered his inaugural Cabernet Sauvignon vintage in Royal Adelaide Wine Show and was delighted to win the prestigious Montgomery Trophy for best red wine in show. Follow the story of Wakefield’s Cabernet Sauvignon with Adrian Atkinson and uncover how the combination of Terra Rossa soils and the Clare Valley’s cool climate are ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
