Louis Latour Ardeche Chardonnay 2015
Louis Latour have been working in the Ardèche region since the late 1970s when they realised they would need to look outside of Burgundy to find alternative sources of high quality, everyday priced Chardonnays. A bold move at the time which has proved to be a wise decision. Louis Latour's Ardèche Chardonnay is from vineyards on hillside clay limestone rich soils within IOP Coteaux de l'Ardèche. It is a fresh and appealing wine with considerable depth and quality. The 2015 vintage of this wine has crisp acidity with delicious flavours of green apple and lime freshness.
Simonnet-Febvre 100 Series Chardonnay 2014
In 1840 Jean Febvre, a barrel cooper from Montbard, founded the winery which is now Simonnet-Febvre. Today it remains one of the oldest and most traditional Chablis producers in the region. As well as producing top-quality Grand Cru and Premier Cru Chablis, it makes regional wines including their 100 Series trio. From Provence and the outer reaches of Burgundy, this wine combines aromatic richness and freshness. The Grapes, harvested when perfectly ripe, are vinified at low temperature in stainless steel tanks to fully express the typical elegance of Chardonnay.
Wakefield Estate Riesling 2016
Wakefield is a third generation family wine business and was founded in 1969 by Bill Taylor who was inspired by his love for the red wines of Bordeaux’s Medoc region. He was drawn to South Australia’s Clare Valley where his first 178 hectare vineyard was planted on the banks of the Wakefield River close to the village of Auburn. Now headed by Mitchell Taylor and run with the help of his two brothers their philosophy blends an ‘old world’ estate mind set with ‘new world’ winemaking innovation. All the grapes for the Wakefield Estate Riesling come from the Taylor family's own Clare Valley vineyards. The grapes were harvested at night as quickly as possible during this period in early February to maintain yields and this resulted in excellent fruit quality.
Henry Fessy Beaujolais-Villages 2015
Henry Fessy is located in the heart of Beaujolais. Their winery sits in the shadow of Mont Brouilly and their unique domaine is the most geographically extensive in the region and includes vineyards in nine of the 10 Cru appellations. Henry Fessy Beaujolais Villages comes from several villages located in the northern part of the region. A large proportion of this blend comes from Henry Fessy's stunning old-vine parcel planted on a 45° sloped hillside. The Henry Fessy Domaine includes a total of 13 hectares of Beaujolais-Villages vineyards. These wines combine finesse, flavour and roundness and are perfect for immediate enjoyment.
The Isonto range is selected by Louis Latour Agencies to offer every day wines without sacrificing quality whilst remaining keenly priced. We source these wines from South Africa because of the quality of fruit available and dynamism of the country's winemakers. A fresh fruit driven red with plum and cherry aromas. The palate is medium bodied with broad rounded fruit and a pleasant lingering finish.
Viu Manent Estate Collection Merlot 2015
Viu Manent was founded in 1935 by Catalan immigrant Miguel Viu Garcia and his sons Agustin and Miguel Viu Manent. They are one of the longest established producers in the region. Initially the family focused on a negociant wine business however, in 1966 they fulfilled a long held ambition and bought the Hacienda San Carlos de Cunaco and the vineyards in the Colchagua Valley from which they had long sourced their wines. The Estate Collection Reserva range represents the purest expressions of each grape variety and are characterised by vibrant aromas and flavours. Cherry red in colour with intense aromas of spices and herbs such as thyme and bay leaf along with abundant ripe red fruits. The palate is juicy, medium bodied, and very well balanced.
