Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Awards 2020

This February was a busy month for Champagne Gosset, and it continued apace with the 2020 Goldsmith’s Craft & Design Council Awards of which Gosset are a Patron. The award’s results were announced on the 24th February at the Goldsmith’s Hall in the City of London. It is the second year of Gosset’s association with this competition and we were pleased to support a special award for the 2D Design Silversmiths.

The 2020 entrants to Gosset special award were asked to reimagine the champagne glass, thinking not just about appearance but also about the drinking experience and commercial considerations. When the judging panel convened back in January they were looking for a design that really stood out in all these areas.

We were very pleased to present the award to Scott Smith, a third year degree student at Glasgow School of Art for a fabulous design inspired by rock formations on the Scottish coastline that combines glass and metal. It was a pleasure to raise a glass of Gosset with Scott (and his mother) on the night and we look forward to keeping in touch with Scott and seeing his career develop over the next few years.
