On Thursday 12th July the International Spirits Challenge awards dinner took place in London at Gibson Hall. It was a glittering night with awards given to all categories of the spirits industry.
Patrice Piveteau, Frapin’s Cellar Master, was in London and was invited on stage to collect a trophy.
The trophy was awarded to Frapin Château de Fontinot XO, a cognac sourced from a special block surrounding the Château and aged for a minimum of 20 years entirely in the Château’s cellars. Unusually it is aged on the upper level dry cellars which bring a special characteristic to the cognac.
Patrice was delighted to win the award and all the more pleased because Château Fontpinot is one of the core cognacs in Frapin’s range, made from year to year, rather than a special edition or a very old eau de vie.
The competition also awarded a gold to Frapin VSOP.
