Louis Latour have just completed a major renovation of the family’s ancestral home, Château Corton-Grancey and held an inauguration ceremony in early October to mark the project’s completion.
The Latour family have been vine growers in Aloxe-Corton since 1768. It is still the heart of their 50 hectare domaine and the location of their historic winery and the family’s old summer house, Château Corton-Grancey.
The Château was purchased by the Latour family in 1891, it sits amongst the vines at the foot of Corton hill and was used as a summer house where the family could monitor the development of the vines. In 2007 the Château passed from private family ownership to the wine company.
Louis Latour receive many visitors each year and so, two years ago, the extensive programme of works was begun to provide space to entertain and preserve the historic building. The house now has several salons overlooking the vineyards and a professional kitchen.
