The Single Vineyard selection showcases special sites with strong individual character within Viu Manent’s estate. This Malbec is made from 80 year old vines from blocks 4 and 5 of the San Carlos vineyard located near the town of Cunaco in the Colchagua Valley. Rain in the winter, warm dry summer days and cool nights coupled with sea and mountain breezes create the perfect micro climate for grape production. | |

Tasting note |
Dark and intense purple with violet hints in colour. This wine offers up a nose of
blackberry, ripe cherry, snuff and spices. The palate has flavours of mushrooms, dark chocolate and mocha. Its firm, voluptuous tannins are perfectly combined with a fresh acidity, giving a final complex, elegant and persistent.

''Ripe fruit and firm tannic structure with a deft hint of oak adding additional complexity,' said Cubitt House's Matthew Cocks, while consultant Angela Reddin liked the 'youthful juicy' nature of the 'rich, concentrated nose', and picked up orange rind and spice, plus Syrah-like pepperiness' on the palate.
