The Gran Reserva wines are made using grapes from 2 specially selected vineyard sites located in the Casablanca Valley. Viticulture in the Valley is possible largely because of the oceanic influence where warm summer days, cool night combined with sea breezes and fog ensure the grapes develop slowly attaining full ripeness. The 2012/13 growing season was relatively cool and wet, this resulted in a extended growing season and a harvest which took place three weeks later than normal. The resulting grapes were fully ripe but with higher acidity and lower alcohol levels than average. | |

Tasting note |
A clean, bright greenish-yellow colour, this wine has an elegant nose marked by exotic fruit, green apple, pineapple, and citrus, with white flowers and subtle mineral and toasted hazelnut notes. The palate is refreshing and silky, with tremendous body, very good balance, and a vibrant acidity that gives way to a lingering, intense, and enjoyable finish.

18.5 points, Decanter, Oct. 2015This Chardonnay is from Casablanca... and the marine influence is felt in the wine's bright acidity, surrounded by ripe white fruit flavours. It's a voluptuous, round and unctuously ripe Chardonnay that still shows an elegant side. Top #6, 50 star buys of 2015, Decanter, January 2016Beautiful nutty, preserved lemon rind and struck flint aromas. Great concentration of savoury tones on the palate with vivid lime pith lift and a broad, long finish. Elegantly crafted with amazing balance and lovely acidity. |
