| From the vineyards around the castle in Montalcino, this wine is the only red wine without Sangiovese. This wine combines Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot. Both are vinified separately and aged for a year before being blended together for a further 8 months ageing. The ExcelsuS is only made in exceptional years. | |

| Tasting note |
This wine is intense with very fruity scents accompanied by more complex notes of plum, blackcurrant and cedar. In the mouth it is rich and ample with sweet tannins and a persistent finish.
