Louis Latour Agencies Launch Podcast Series

19 May 2020

This week and next sees the launch of a series of five new podcasts to mark the 30th anniversary of Louis Latour Agencies. Presented by Lawrence Francis on Interpreting Wine, the podcasts include interviews with key people within the industry, from the wineries the agency represent.  They will tell stories of experiences they have had in their careers and the stories behind the wines (and cognacs) they make.

The series will be introduced on Tuesday 19th May by Will Oatley, MD at Louis Latour Agencies and Agency Director, Richard Nunn. Once released, you will be able to listen to it here www.interpretingwine.com/LLAspotify / www.interpretingwine.com/LLAitunes.

Here is the schedule of interviews, together with a link which will become active on the date shown.

Thursday 21st May - An interview with Cristina Mariani-May, co- CEO of Castello Banfi.

Castello Banfi was founded in 1978 by the Mariani family, Italian-Americans who had been involved in wine importing and distribution since 1919. They saw great potential in this then sleepy Tuscan region and from the start their goal was to establish a point of excellence in Montalcino.

Mon 25th May - Meet Laurent Chevalier, the winemaker and in charge of Domaine Henry Fessy

Henry Fessy is located in the heart of Beaujolais. Their winery sits in the shadow of Mont Brouilly and their unique domaine is the most geographically extensive in the region and includes vineyards in nine of the 10 Cru appellations. This unique resource allows their team to gain an intimate understanding of each vineyard and the specificities of each vintage resulting in exceptional and expressive wines.

Fri 29th May - Starring Patrice Piveteau, the Cellar Master from Cognac Frapin.

Cognac Frapin has an illustrious history. Still in original family ownership.  A unique house that differs greatly from the region’s other significant producers, making Cognacs entirely on the family’s single estate in the Grande Champagne area which is regarded as Cognac’s best appellation. The extended ageing for all of the Frapin Cognacs sets them apart from their competitors and contributes to the rich, complex and smooth house style.
