The Isonto wine range includes a red, white and rosé wine and has been created to meet a specific requirement in the UK wine market. It is a brand that has been designed and sourced by Louis Latour Agencies and in this way it is something of a departure from the other producers in our portfolio. Our buyer Richard Nunn chooses to source these wines in South Africa because of the dynamism and passion evident amongst the country's winemakers and the abundance of high quality fruit available.
We have been very pleased with the reaction to the wines and were thrilled when the Chenin Blanc 2007 was awarded a gold medal as best house wine in the 2008 Sommelier Wine Awards. More recently the 2010 Chenin Blanc was awarded a Bronze medal in the 2011 Sommelier Wine Awards.
Value for money is what we are looking for with Isonto and, judging by the popularity of these wines, it is what our customers are looking for as well. These are fresh, easy drinking wines that are meant to be opened and enjoyed.
